As always, my meal only used recipes as suggestions. How can you truly know your meal if you do not explore in its creation. I like to learn those shortfalls and strong points of recipes and meals. There was no need to have a recipe for the skillet of potato, bell pepper, and locally produced Soyrisso (yes, chorriso from soy... yay hippie Humboldt). The pumpkin scones sure did. My recipe in progress is as follows:
Liquid:
2 eggs
enough milk to add to egg and get 1 cup of liquid
2 tablespoons of hot water
Mix:
2.5 cups of flour
3.5 tablespoons of butter
2 cups of cool smashed pumpkin
dash of salt
1 cup of sugar
2.5 tablespoons of cinimon
handful of flax
Oven: 425 ~20min
The scones turned out moist and sweet. I'm going to try less liquid next time and maybe some raisins. Maybe a little less pumpkin, trying the liquid first. As I said, this is a work in progress. I do hope to have this for Thanksgiving if not Halloween. ;)
If anyone is so adventurous to try these scones, please share your experiences.
Are you gonna have a foodie blog :) I hope so. Love you!
